About Coins Of Olympus Slots

Although it was released in 2013, Coins of Olympus, which was developed by Rival Gaming, has the look of a slot that is considerably older. Still, looks aren’t everything (as we’ve been told many times before) so how does Coins of Olympus fair when it comes to playability and winning potential?

Based on the Gods of Olympus, many of whom seem to be wearing cheesy smiles, Coins of Olympus is a cartoony slot that doesn’t look like much to begin with, but is actually really fun once you get going. Not only are there some big payments, but there are also a number of bonus rounds.

If you know your Greek Gods then you’ll be able to work out who pays what, and who’s higher than who, but don’t expect to get anything from Zeus, the God of all Gods, as he acts as a bonus symbol as opposed to a paying one. Other Gods and Goddesses making an appearance include Athena, Hermes, Hercules and Hades, and most of these pay very well, although you will be sick of the sight of a few of them by the end of play.

Bonus Feature

We love a good bonus round, and Coins of Olympus has them in plenty supply. The main bonus round comes via Zeus who, as you’ll know from your mythology, was the daddy of all Gods (literally). In this round you’ll actually control Hermes as he rides Pegasus and tries to collect gold coins. If you get enough of them then you can walk away with a lot of money, but more often than not you’ll be looking at around 15x your stake.

One of the bonuses you will see a lot of, and one that served to win us a lot of money, is the silver coin, which acts as a wild and fills the entire reel. If you land this at the right time, or if you land a few of them, then you’ll be in for a big payday, and one that can even give you more than the main bonus round. There is also a free spins round, which comes via the gold coin and unlocks as many as 20 free spins, all of which have a 3x multiplier.

There is also a jackpot symbol, which comes in the form of Poseidon, the God of the sea, and returns as much as 4,000 coins, the value of which depends on your stake.

Summary

As soon as we saw Coins of Olympus we weren’t expecting anything special. This game doesn’t look like much at first glance, but it’s true that you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover and we’re really glad that we stuck with this one. The base game is very fun, the bonus round is a nice little surprise and the free spins, the wild and the jackpot all serve to add to the appeal. It might not look like much, but Coins of Olympus is actually one of the better slots that Rival Gaming have put out over the last few years.
